Beijing Botanical Garden is located at the Xiangshan Road(South), Haidian District.
Built in 1956, it is a comprehensive garden integrating scientific popularization, research and sight-seeing, with an area of 600,000 square meters and a collection of 3,000-odd species of plants exhibition as its centre, and comprises altogether 13 rooms where grow more than 1,500 tropical and sub-tropical plants, including rare ones like stone flowers, bare trees and dancing orchids. Besides, there are also many historical sites and scenic spots, e. g. Temple of Wofo, Chery Valley, Site of Longjiao Temple, Memorial Pavilion of “December 9” Event, Tomb of Liang Qichao, Memorial House of Cao Xueqin at Huangye Village, and so on.
There are more than 1.4 million visitors every year from domestic and oversea.
